It’s no secret Dubai is one of the biggest shopping destinations around the world, with its unrivalled malls and roster of high-end global brands. So, naturally, a month-long festival dedicated to the art of shopping doesn’t seem at all unusual. In fact, it feels almost necessary.
Dubai Shopping Festival began in 1996 when HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, turned his vision of an epic shopping festival into reality, with a vision to enhance the city as the ultimate destination for family tourism.
The FW18 Collection by Bally at Mall of the Emirates
In its first year alone, DSF saw 1.6million visitors. Followed by the launch of Global Village in 1997, 3000 retail outlets registered to participate in the festival. Fast forward to today, and DSF is bigger and better than ever. From fabulous fragrances, chic home décor and must-have looks, the DSF is your chance to do some seriously splurging – (almost) guilt-free!
If you haven’t had a chance to shop till you drop yet, fear not. The city-wide festival is running until the 2nd February 2019. In need of a fully-fledged fashion fix? The ultimate DSF experience can be had on the 23rd January at Mall of the Emirates’ ‘Shop The Night Away’ event, a one-night-only event not to be missed.
