Dubai-based designer Maha Abdul Rasheed has a knack for knowing what women want. Her beautiful, feminine designs speak to the girly girl within us all, and drip with saccharine sweetness that packs a sartorial punch. There's a reason Bambah is a much-loved brand by Team Bazaar. The latest collection, which features the brand's signature frills and bows, takes its inspiration from Cairo, Egypt. "Even though I've never really lived in Eygpt, I have always been drawn to its authenticity and buzzing atmosphere," Maha tells Bazaar. "I love the chaos of the city and all of the different landscapes and escape resorts that it has. There is so much history and many hidden treasures that take you on a wonderful adventure. The overall attitude is a very happy, cheerful one."
That is really what I wanted to bring out in this collection with these pieces," says Maha.
Maha shot the campaign with four of Egypt's rising talents. "We specifically chose four of Egypt's beautiful Bamabah girls rather than professional models to portray the brand in the eyes of real, natural beauty." The women are Malak El Husseiny ("She is one of the brightest young talents in the Middle Eastern music scene with a big future ahead. I really admire her style, energy and enthusiasm"), Salma Abu Deif ("A fresh-faced beauty that fits perfectly with Bambah"), Miral Mahilian ("A rising star, Miral is truly a stunner!") and Huda El Mufti ("The beautiful Huda is one of Egypt's most in-demand faces. She's a pretty girl with a great sense of style and wonderful vibes.")
The collection evokes the signature aesthetic of the Bambah woman and Maha hopes that her customers will "love the overall spirit of the collection and its jolly pink mood," adding, "the pieces are very playful and flirty and have a great impact for those that like to stand out, yet the colour palette is so soft and feminine that it creates a great balance."
