Here’s Why Virgil Abloh Missed The Off-White Show
The iconic luxury streetwear designer is following doctor’s orders to take a step back
One of Paris’ most anticipated shows Off-White, took place on Thursday but the brand’s iconic CEO, Virgil Abloh, was nowhere to be seen. The luxury streetwear designer is one of fashion’s hottest names of the moment. Blessed with the Midas touch, it seems that everything Abloh touches turns to gold and it is his outstanding knack for merging streetwear and luxury that has recently seen him take on the role of Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton menswear.
But with such a high-profile career comes a high-pressure lifestyle involving long hours, extensive travel and high stakes. Abloh has been given strict doctor’s orders to literally take a step back from his hectic schedule to allow his mind and body time to recover.
As a result, the CEO-designer instituted a strict work-from-home policy, cancelling all engagements and appearances for the next three months. The decision to actively put his health first at this stage of his career could not have been an easy decision, but we applaud the designer for setting a strong example on the importance of putting your health first and championing a wellbeing-first mindset.
