For the seventh year, Forbes has released its list of the world's 100 most valuable brands. To rank them, Forbes looks at each brand's earnings for three years, and allocates percentages of the earnings depending on the role each brand plays in its industry.

Predictably, the top 10 was dominated by technology brands, with Apple, Google, Microsoft and Facebook comprising the top four, in that order.

As for fashion and luxury brands, Nike topped the list with a ranking of #16 in the world, followed by Louis Vuitton at #20, and then H&M at #36.

This is not the first time Louis Vuitton has been named the world's most valuable luxury fashion brand. The 2016 Best Global Brand Report had it top in this category, while Apple still held the top spot overall (as it also did in the 2016 Cool Brands Index).

Here are the top 10 fashion and luxury brands from Forbes' list, and how they placed overall.

1. Nike (#16) — $29.6 billion USD

2. Louis Vuitton (#20) — $28.8 billion USD

3. H&M (#36) — $14.2 billion USD

4. Hermès (#44) — $13 billion USD

5. Gucci (#47) — $12.7 billion USD

6. Zara (#51) — $11.3 billion USD

7. Cartier (#61) — $9.3 billion USD

8. Rolex (#69) — $8.7 billion USD

9. Adidas (#75) — $7.9 billion USD

10. Chanel (#87) — $7.3 billion USD
