Net-a-Porter is now three seasons deep into its VANGUARD programme – its much-celebrated project that champions the industry’s up-and-coming designers – and the luxury retailer has just announced which four new brands it will be supporting this season.

Being stocked on NAP, as we so affectionately call it, is a major coup for any fashion brand, but by highlighting less-known labels that it feels has great potential, a sign-up of such a kind works wonders for the lucky brands it selects. And this season, those brands are BITE Studios, Le 17 September, Naturae Sacra and The Sant.

For the first time ever, each brand was scouted through Instagram (so 2019), with sustainability at the top of mind during the selection process – RTW brand BITE Studios and handbag label Naturae Sacra both bow to sustainable processes in their materials and their production. All four brands are new and exclusive for A/W’19 and not only that, they will all receive a comprehensive mentorship within each area of the business.

BITE Studios
A natural choice for The Vanguard’s support, BITE Studios answers today’s demand for sustainable luxury fashion and offers everything from sharp suiting to slick shirt dresses. Fun fact: BITE stands for (By Independent Thinkers for Environmental Progress).

Le 17 Septembre
One of the most exciting brands to emerge from the Korean fashion scene, this chic RTW brand is the brainchild of blogger turned self-taught designer Eunhye Shin. The name of the game is minimal in mood, with a collection that boasts quiet, contemplative pieces that ease effortlessly into any stylish wardrobe.

Naturae Sacra
More pieces of art than handbags, Naturae Sacra designs elegant leather designs with sculptural resin handles crafted in curvy, fluid shapes. Want to know the best bit? No two handles are the same, so each bag is as unique as the woman who carries it.

The Sant
The second of the handbag labels chosen for this year’s programme, this new Barcelona brand is shaking up the industry with its witty, modern pieces. It’s designs are full of quirky touches – think exaggerated shapes and offbeat details such as squashed box designs and flap closures – making each piece a statement piece that will definitely get you noticed.
