Victoria’s Secret Just Hired It’s First-Ever Plus-Size Model
And she looks absolutely amazing in their new campaign
Victoria’s Secret has just officially signed their first plus-sized model in an effort to make the brand more inclusive amidst rising criticism – and we couldn’t be happier about it.
The move comes after former Chief Marketing Officer of L Brands and Senior Creative of Victoria’s Secret, Ed Razek, made a series of controversial comments last year, stating that the public has “no interest” in seeing plus-sized models in the industry.
Now, VS is actively trying to make amends after Razek’s resignation in April this year. Starting this month, size-14 model Ali Tate will be among the diverse range of VS Angels featured in the brand’s collaborative new #LoveYourself campaign with London-based lingerie brand Bluebella.
Tate herself shared the exciting news through a heartfelt message on Instagram. “I’m pretty stoked to work with a brand I idolized when I was a teen,” she wrote. “Great step in the right direction for bodies.”
We couldn’t agree more, Ali.
