The Ones To Watch: What To Shop And Listen To This November 2022

The finishing touch for the ultimate capsule closet, fashion and football’s new friendship, the latest ‘it’ brow and more this November…

Highbrow Style

Icy-blonde arches were ubiquitous on the runway during last month’s fashion weeks, but nobody did it better than Victoria Beckham’s subtle nod to ’90s brows. When make-up artist Diane Kendal bleached them a few shades lighter than the models’ natural hair, it resulted in what she described backstage as a “luminous” and “monochrome” look.

Hell-Bent For Leather

Trench coats are forever a mainstay in transitional wardrobes, yet for the rebellious dresser this season, designers have leaned towards the dark side with their leather interpretations. Minimal in style yet transmitting maximal impact, the Matrix-style coat adds grit to your wardrobe that its safer gabardine sister just can’t provide.

Triple Threat

Singer, songwriter and rapper Nadine el Roubi has just launched her debut EP Triplicity. The five-track offering is produced, mixed and mastered by Egyptian producer Kubbara, who has worked with the likes of Egyptian rapper Abyusif and Jordanian artist Zaid Khaled. The music finds its heart in Nadine’s identity as an Afro-Arab woman and its groovy hip-hop beats mixed with neo-soul rhythms create a layered melodic lineup that is impossible to sit still to.

Elevated Accessories

Capsule wardrobes don’t get much better than a crisp white shirt, an oversized blazer and a perfect pair of jeans. Level up your everyday closet by throwing a gold chain into the mix, or a pair of small but mighty earrings. To source such jewellery classics, we suggest you venture to Aubade’s newly opened Dubai boutique and browse its carefully curated collection of fine brands from across the globe.

Fashion Goals

Luxury brands have long been eager to dress soccer stars and this year’s World Cup, which kicks off this month in Qatar, is packed with sartorial ambassadors. Past partnerships have seen South Korea’s Son Heung-min sign with Ralph Lauren, Englishman Marcus Rashford model for Burberry, and French icon Kylian Mbappé in the Dior stable. Valentino, meanwhile, inked a deal with Dutch star Memphis Depay. But the current king of the fashion/ football set is England superstar Jack Grealish, who earlier this summer signed a seven-figure, multi-year deal with Gucci.
