Bulgari Introduces Magnificent New Pieces To Its Iconic Divas’ Dream Collection…
The historic high jewellery house reinterprets its signature Divas’ Dream collection, seen as a tribute to feminine beauty, cultural heritage, and fine artistry
Since it was founded in 1884, Bulgari has drawn inspiration from the architectural splendour of Rome, the city in which it was founded. It was on the famous and fashionable Via dei Condotti (the street leading to the Spanish Steps) that Sotirios Boulgaris inaugurated his first flagship store in 1905. Emblems of the Eternal City are embedded into the identity of the house down to the lettering of the latin “V” in the house’s logo. And, the Divas’ Dream collection, originally introduced in 2016, is no exception.
Bulgari has just recently expanded the Divas’ Dream line, introducing 9 new pieces, each a
variation on the collection’s emblematic fan-shape motif. This sensual fan-like design takes
inspiration from the lavish geometric polychrome mosaics on the floor of Rome’s iconic Baths of Caracalla. These thermae were the second largest public baths in Ancient Rome and date back to the early 200s AD. The jewellery house has proudly contributed in its way to the revival and recognition of these magnificent works of art.
The splendid precious materials from which they are forged weave in an element of femininity and an enduring ode to magnificence. The novelty additions include a striking three-tiered necklace, which is a delicate interplay of proportion, volume, and negative space. The original design is comprised of three fan elements – one open-worked, one with diamond inserts, and one with a pearl insert. The necklace is set in 18K gold with pavé diamond borders highlighting each of the fans.
The house has also introduced a pendant, a bracelet, and a ring all set in 18K gold with pavé diamond accents. Each design is offered in two variations – one featuring mother-of-pearl inserts and the other, vibrant malachite inserts.
The expert technique required to cut the pearl and malachite into these delicate shapes is a testament to Bulgari’s impeccable craftsmanship and inimitable handling of gemstones.
