Chanel Celebrates The 100th Year Of Its Iconic N°5 Perfume With A Most Dazzling Tribute…
Bazaar shares an insight into the first high jewellery collection ever to be dedicated to the iconic fragrance
The French fashion house pays tribute to their N°5 perfume by designing a high jewellery collection straight out of our diamond dreams. Named “Collection N°5” and envisioned by Patrice Leguéreau, the Director of Chanel‘s fine jewellery creation studio himself, this precious collection is the first-ever high jewellery line to be crafted in honour of a perfume.
The highlight of the collection is the “55.55” necklace which refelcts the spirit of the fragrance by adapting the silhouette of the bottle along with a fastener which is shaped like the number 5. The name of this stunning piece comes from the number of diamond carats (yes, 55.55 of custom-cut carats). “This is an unprecedented approach. We started with a rough diamond that we had cut, not to make the biggest stone possible, but to obtain a perfect octagonal diamond weighing 55.55 carats,” observes Patrice Leguéreau.
What more? The timeless creation comes with 104 round diamonds and 42 baguette diamonds set on an 18-carat white gold bezel. This extraordinary piece which will forever be a part of the history of Chanel’s High Jewelry, symbolizes the embrace between the spirit of the N°5 perfume and the most exceptional jewellery making.
And it goes without saying that with its hundred years of resounding fame, only a perfume as mysterious and glorious as the N°5 perfume could inspire such a sublime high jewellery collection.
