Inside Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition: Everything You Missed
In celebration of the world’s most luxurious showcase, which wrapped up earlier this month, Bazaar Arabia shares five of the most dazzling moments here
Qatar is ambitious, full stop. The FIFA World Cup, which took the nation’s bustling capital by storm back in 2022, is certainly a testament to the nation’s pioneering spirit – and, in that same vein, the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE) continues to push the boundaries of blending luxury with leisure.
The longest-running jewellery and horology event in the Middle East, which took place from February 5-11 and celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, welcomed industry elites, collections, celebrities and discerning travellers for a seven-day immersive exploration of the best in high jewellery and watchmaking. The event attracts over 500 brands – a North Star for those looking to align themselves with the luxury, sophistication, and elegance the country is known for – while also celebrating the best of regional talent (The Qatari Designer Pavilion at DJWE 2024 spotlighted the artisanal excellence and superb craftsmanship of ten local designers, with a series of collections which encapsulated the unique ethos of each designer.)

DJWE is renowned for masterfully showcasing the world’s most exclusive jewellery and timepieces. This year, the “big eight” brands were Alfardan Jewellery, Al Majed Jewellery, Ali Bin Ali Luxury, Amiri Gems, Fifty One East, Al Muftah Jewellery, Blue Salon, and BVLGARI; who presented their latest and most luxurious collections.

From supermodel Irina Shayk and iconic French football legend-turned-sports-broadcaster Thierry Henry being the official ambassadors of the exhibition to the presence of elite dignitaries like HE Sheikh Khalifa Bin Hamad Al Thani, Minster of Interior; HE Mr. Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism; and the attendance of Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios and actor Shah Rukh Khan, DJWE’s attendees reflected the star power inherent to the event.
Couldn’t make it out to DJWE? Bazaar Arabia shares five reasons why the exhibition needs to be in your calendar for next year.
5 of the Most Dazzling Moments from the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition’s 20th Anniversary
Miss Universe 2023 attended as a guest of honour.
Donning a dazzling crown, Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios embodied the regal elegance of DJWE.

The world’s largest pair of brilliant round diamonds were on display.
DJWE 2024 redefined the phrase “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
Playing host to a historic industry milestone, the groundbreaking exhibition exclusively showcased the largest pair of brilliant round diamonds known to man, made possible by Qatar Tourism who succeeded in bringing them to DJWE.

Exuding supreme purity and quality, each diamond is composed of over 100-carat and was crafted at HB Antwerp over a period of three years; after being ethically sourced from the Karowe Mine in Botswana.
Tiffany & Co.’s nature-inspired Bird on a Pearl collection.
Celebrating the beauty of birds and pearls — two ethereal emblems inspired by nature — DJWE showcased Tiffany & Co.’s exquisite Bird on a Pearl collection, adorned with diamonds, gemstones, and rare pearls. The breathtakingly beautiful showcase was hosted by Alfardan Jewellery at DJWE 2024.

Designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1965 in honour of the prominent designer’s love for nature, the signature bird at the heart of the collection is creatively perched on a gemstone – incorporating the world’s rarest pearls sourced from the Gulf and the highest quality diamonds. The stunning Bird on a Pearl necklace is composed of over 325 total carats of natural saltwater pearls with five ethereal bird motifs.
Bulgari showcased its most breathtaking creations.
The world-renowned Roman High Jewellery Maison showcased its latest Bulgari High Jewellery collection at this year’s exhibition.
Notably, Bulgari spotlighted its exquisite High Jewelry Necklace at DJWE 2024. Masterfully crafted in platinum — featuring 1 cushion spinel, that is, the fourth largest in the world by carat weight; 4 square emerald-cut diamonds, 27 emerald beads, 36 fancy shape diamonds, 69 round brilliant cut diamonds, and pavé-set diamonds – the masterpiece exudes limitless grace, uniqueness, and femininity.
Chromatically adorned with pink-fuchsia and green emerald – a signature Bulgari trademark – and crafted over 1,400 impact hours, the piece is balanced, soft, light, and quintessentially feminine.
The Education Above All initiative highlighted Qatar’s commitment to excellence in its future generations.
Joining forces with the esteemed Education Above All (EAA) initiative — founded by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation — DJWE 2024 demonstrated its commitment to making a positive impact on Qatari society at large.
During the event, EAA partnered with Brazilian jeweler and designer Silvia Furmanovich – in addition to multiple Qatari designers – showcasing exclusive designs in honour of marginalised students as part of the Educate A child initiative.
For a good cause, Papion donated a commemorative brooch, Nouf Jewelry a necklace, De Trove Jewelry a bracelet, and Mahain Jewelry two brooches – among other Qatari donors.
