IWC Schaffhausen Launches Da Vinci Ladies Timepieces In Dubai
The Swiss luxury watchmaker hosted its “Decoding the Beauty of Time” afternoon tea at the Viceroy Palm Jumeirah on Tuesday 16 May
The event included the Dubai launch of the Da Vinci Automatic 36, one of two new models created exclusively for IWC Schaffhausen’s female collectors. The timepieces are the latest reinvention of the iconic Da Vinci collection that was first unveiled in 1969. Guests at last week’s event could try on the models whilst enjoying a sumptuous offering of sweet treats and being photographed in a fun kaleidoscope installation.

The Da Vinci Automatic 36 is available in four models – one in 18-carat red gold with 54 diamonds set in the bezel, and three in stainless steel that also includes a diamond-set version. The timepieces come with a matching linked bracelet in gold or stainless steel, or in a choice of coloured alligator leather straps by Santoni – all of which can comfortably hug a slim wrist despite the sleek 36mm masculine-style dial.

Each timepiece’s case features an engraving of the “Flower of Life” on the reverse. This geometric pattern of overlapping circles gives a nod to the collection’s namesake, as it was the subject of numerous drawings by Leonardo Da Vinci. IWC Schaffhausen named the collection after the Italian Renaissance artist and inventor due to his groundbreaking work that included a fascination with measuring time.

The event was part of a busy month in the city for IWC Schaffhausen, who also just announced its support of the IWC Filmmaker Awards for the sixth consecutive year in partnership with the Dubai International Film Festival.
