Jewellery Notebook: 7 Pieces Our Editors Are Coveting This Month

A selection of exceptional jewels that need to be on your radar this October

Soleil de Feu Brooch

The Ciels de Chaumet collection, to which this brooch belongs, is inspired by the many transformations of the sky. Crafted in the house’s Paris high jewellery atelier, this brooch in particular depicts the brilliance of the fiery sun – radiating in all its glory. The design is infused with a feminine aesthetic, a testament to the female energy with which the sun is associated as a longstanding symbol of life and warmth.

Witr: The new regional brand that needs to be on your radar

Inspired by her love for art, Qatari designer Reem Al Shamari launched her very own fine jewellery brand, Witr, in 2015. The label specialises in iris motifs, which are incorporated into sumptuous, baroque-inspired jewellery pieces featuring textured gold and large gemstones. The name Witr, which translates to “singular” in Arabic, speaks to the brand’s DNA, which is the creation of jewellery that is extraordinarily unique, in the same way that the colour, pattern and even texture of the human eye is particular to each individual.
