Maison H: Meet The Designers Behind The Dubai-Based Jewellery Brand That Counts Bella Hadid And JLo as Fans
The regional atelier is making a name for itself through a star-studded roster of celebrity fans
From humble beginnings in South Africa to now having their pieces worn by some of the biggest celebrities in the world, jewellery designers Hisham Mahomed and Fatima Tayob are truly fulfilling their goal of giving every corner of the globe a chance to savour their unique creativity and exceptional quality.
Recently spotted on Bella Hadid during the launch of her fragrance line, Ôrebella, to having Jennifer Lopez sport their pieces on the Good Morning America show in New York, its been a whirlwind few weeks for the Dubai-based brand.

But before orbiting the realm of celebrity, Hisham and Fatima were immersed in the trade of polished diamonds and perfecting their craft of mounting stones. After building up a roster of regular clients, for whom they’d regularly create customised pieces, the duo decided to tap into a new audience, founding Maison H in 2012 as an accessible and trendy, luxury jewellery line.
“We continue to pride ourselves on the quality and cutting of diamonds, as this is the identity of our core holding company,” says Hisham. “We then use our inspirational influences, tools, and arms to create collections that reflect creativity and emphasises our story.”

From their popular Skin Collection, with each piece having been “meticulously crafted to mimic the appearance of molten gold that has delicately flowed and solidified on your skin,” to their innovative range of Art Deco Gemstones, Maison H draws inspiration from the beauty found in their everyday surroundings. “Be it from expositions in beautiful and meaningful spaces, or nature’s canvas,” reveal the founders.
On their creative process, Hisham and Fatima like to keep things traditional, bringing pen to paper once an idea is born. “Tweaks and changes are then made before we take it to the conventional production process.”

Still, from conceptualisation to being thrust onto the global stage through the glittering ensembles of international stars is undoubtedly a remarkable achievement – and solidifies Maison H as a cut above the rest.
When pressed about what makes their pieces so unique, Hisham and Fatima highlight their innovative thinking. “Going against the norms and benchmarks of the industry, while defying the usual odds is a trait we feel has steered the brand to its current level of growth and success.”

Now one of the coveted rising brands on Instagram, with over 36 thousand followers on the platform (and counting), their pieces have been worn by a host of influential regional faces including Nancy Ajram and Dina Zahran, making their mark in the Arab world and beyond.
“It brings us a humble sense of joy and satisfaction to such personalities enjoying wearing our pieces as much as we have enjoyed creating them,” share the founders.

According to Hisham and Fatima, Maison H seeks to be synonymous with innovation, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance. “We want people to feel complete and confident when wearing our designs.”
