The Mejuri Manifesto Makes It to the Middle East

The Canadian-born fine jewellery house begins a new chapter

If you have a penchant for minimal pieces to add to your stacking arsenal, you’ve probably filled up a cart or two at Mejuri, the brand that has seen immense success since its 2015 debut in Toronto.

A third-generation jeweller, its CEO and co-founder, Noura Sakkijha, was born and raised in Jordan, where she was exposed to technical artistry and craftsmanship from an early age. Now, in a full-circle moment, her work is officially entering the Middle East market, opening its first store in Kuwait.

The brand’s collections span sterling silver, 14K gold, diamonds, and ethical materials, all designed with versatility in mind. The pieces are suited for a variety of combinations and ensembles, from workdays to weekends, which means you can style them in the way that best fits your personality. “We’re all about layering,” said Noura.

Talking about sustainable sourcing, one of her proudest initiatives is Mejuri’s investment in an organisation called Regeneration. “What they do is take old and abandoned mining sites that have been destroyed by mining, where the habitat has gone, and they re-mine the gold. Through that process, they remove the toxins, and they’ve been able to bring salmon back into some of the habitats. We’re the only jewellery company that has access to something called ‘salmon gold’,” Noura explained.

This focus on responsible luxury is also important for the Middle East launch, with the region’s growing demand for transparency without compromising on quality.

Looking ahead, Mejuri’s return to its roots represents the beginning of a broader expansion strategy across the world.
