The 5 Most Covetable Omega Watches To Add To Your Collection

From its glittering Constellation to the sports-luxe Seamaster, discover the five iconic Omega women’s watches that should be in every connoisseur’s collection

Founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Omega was initially a pocket watch business, gradually earning a reputation for reliable and accurate timepieces. In 1894, under the steam of Louis’ son’s, Louis-Paul and César, the business became a behemoth of the Swiss watchmaking industry, and in 1903 the company officially bore the name of Omega, named after the maison’s Omega Caliber—a remarkably precise movement that cemented its reputation on the world stage for watchmaking excellence.

The maison has had some extraordinary firsts—in 1932 it became the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games, and in 1965, Omega’s Speedmaster Professional became the official watch worn by astronauts during NASA’s space missions. In 1969, Buzz Aldrin wore an Omega Speedmaster when he became one of the first people to walk on the moon, making the Speedmaster the first ever watch on the moon.

Beyond its sporting connotations, Omega is also famed for its ultra-famous friends, and has collaborated with some of fashion and film’s biggest names—perhaps most notably associated with the James Bond franchise. Cindy Crawford is another longstanding devotee, and her daughter and model Kaia Gerber now also champions the Swiss maison. Kaia was instrumental in reviving women’s watches being worn on the red carpet when she attended the Met Gala in 2021, pairing an elegant Omega De Ville Prestige Dewdrop watch with her Oscar de la Renta gown.

The maison’s true strength, however, lies in creating versatile watches for everyday wear, blending luxury with practicality, and preciousness with precision. Here, Bazaar Arabia rounds up the five key models to add to your watch wardrobe.

The 5 Most Covetable Omega Watches To Add To Your Collection

The Constellation

First launched in 1952, the Constellation was conceived to shine like the stars, with a distinct silhouette featuring two claw-like details often set with diamonds either side of the dial. Available to suit various wrist sizes and aesthetics, the Constellation ranges from 29mm to 36mm, offering a petite and punchy or sportier, oversized look. Available in multi-metal tones, on a bracelet or leather strap, the Constellation is a true chameleon, which can be tailored to suit all tastes.

The Ladymatic

Omega launched the Ladymatic in 1955, it was one of the first ever wristwatches specifically designed for women, and it has remained a timeless and elegant design that riffs on classic design codes ever since. Its mother-of-pearl dial is studded with diamond hour markers, and its case is available in sleek steel and gold tones with or without diamonds upon the bezel. Choose from a neat leather strap or a chic linked bracelet.

The Seamaster

Omega’s Seamaster was first introduced in 1948, and was designed to withstand the pressures of deep-water diving. Modern models range in water resistance from 150 metres upwards, and over the years the Seamaster has become intrinsically associated with exploration and adventure sports. The Seamaster professional diving models are also famous for their connection to James Bond, most notably by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye. The women’s Seamaster Aqua Terra features with a wavy, opaline dial, and its hour markers are shaped to emulate sailboat hulls, continuing the sea-faring theme.

The De Ville Trésor

The De Ville collection was first introduced in the 1960s, and its name hints at its design DNA—it was conceived to embody urban sophistication. With a slim case, and elegant yet dynamic bezel that seamlessly leads to the strap, the De Ville Trésor feels like an ultra-feminine watch, accented by a floral shape crown and a caseback bearing the maison’s ‘Her Time’ floral motif. Now available with a chic, double-tour strap, The De Ville Trésor is a firm favourite of stylish tastemakers and fashion insiders alike.

The De Ville Prestige

The De Ville Prestige joined the maison’s De Ville collection in the 1990s, and is one of its most refined models. Usually featuring a case size of 39-40mm, the De Ville Prestige is no wallflower, but its elegant and elevated features—gleaming hour markers, an uncluttered dial, and a timeless bracelet—give it an heirloom feel. This is a timepiece to be passed down the generations.
