Payal Launches Limited Edition Collection Exclusively For Moda Operandi

The high jewellery designer has revealed an array of stunning jewels based on stars and the cosmos for the online luxury retailer

The latest designs from Payal New York combine these celestial themes with rare craftsmanship, including a burnished silver technique known only to a handful of master craftsmen in the world. A dark finish reminiscent of the night sky is featured on a selection of constellation cuffs and rings, studded with diamonds and yellow gold connectors in a range of personalised zodiac signs.

This atmospheric effect is also interpreted in the Starburst jewels, which instead uses lightly constructed 18-karat gold blackened with rhodium. Glittering diamonds and gemstone accents seemingly float in the night sky, embellished by their yellow gold surrounding mounts.

Speaking about the collection’s influence, brand founder Payal Mehta says, ”Whenever I need inspiration, I just look up. Stars are the jewels of the sky. They represent magic, mystery, and in the case of zodiac constellations, we see ourselves in them.”

It’s been a busy time for the fine jewellery designer, who is based in both Dubai and New York and is quickly garnering an international following. Just a few days ago Payal’s designs shone as the official jeweller for Le Bal des Débutantes, the annual debutante couture ball in Paris. Today it is recognised as a world leading society event and Payal was both the first independent and first female jeweller to partner with Le Bal.
