Rare $7.4 Million Cartier Yellow Diamond Brooch Makes Its Dubai Debut
As part of Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels sale, set to take place in May, a selection of pieces will be on display in the DIFC gallery this week
Our inner magpie is chirping with excitement as Sotheby’s unveils a number of exceptional pieces from its Magnificent Jewels sale, set to take place later this year in Geneva. From a rare Cartier yellow diamond brooch, valued at Dhs27,180,200 ($7.4 million), to a dazzling sapphire and diamond set, this extravagant collection of jewels is currently on display until April 16.
Magnificent Jewellery Collection on Display In Dubai’s Sotheby’s Gallery
The exhibit is taking place in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) at the Sotheby’s Gallery.
One of the most coveted jewels that are part of the display is the rare Cartier yellow diamond brooch. Weighing a hefty 101.29 carats and at an estimated value of Dhs22,768,570 ($6,200,000) – Dhs27,180,200 ($7,400,000), the iconic piece was meticulously crafted by the French luxury house in 1952.
Another stunning work of artisanship on display also from the jewellery designer is a stunning sapphire and diamond necklace, bracelet, ring, and earring set, complete with an ensuite watch, estimated at Dhs2,937,880 ($800,000) – Dhs5,508,525 ($1,500,000) as well a sapphire and diamond ring weighing an impressive 6.59 carats expected to be sold for Dhs1,652,560 ($450,000) – Dhs2,056,520 ($560,000).

Another highly sought-after piece is the Algues, or algae, necklace with turquoise and amethyst, which has been estimated at Dhs80,790 ($22,000) to Dhs124,860 ($34,000) by celebrated luxury accessories designer René Boivin.

The display also gives visitors a look into an extraordinary collection, curated by a devoted European jewellery connoisseur, who has carefully collected the precious works of craftmanship over five decades. The range comprises over 250 pieces, estimated at Dhs19,834,200 ($5.4 million) to Dhs30,485,070 ($8.3 million). The selection pays homage to celebrated luxury houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, Boucheron, Chaumet, David Webb, Mauboussin and Marina B.
The collection includes a Cartier devant-de-corsage, the iconic Tutti Frutti bracelet also from the French jewellery designer as well as a Bulgari Pair of earrings valued at Dhs1,652,560 ($450,000) to Dhs2,478,840 ($675,000).
