Between the rhinestone encrusted leotards and the gleaming medals she has accrued at the Paris Olympics since Tuesday, Simone Biles has had quite the week of sparkle and shine. It was after she was awarded her sixth gold medal – her second of the Paris games – that Simone revealed an extra shot of sparkle which has sent social media spinning; a white gold and diamond-set goat necklace.
“It’s a little ode… a lot of people love it. They always call me the GOAT [greatest ever of all time] so I thought it would be really special if I got one made,” she said.
“The haters hate it, but I like that even more. It’s just a special part of me that I have here.”
“In the [athletes’] village I have a stuffed goat. Just to get a reminder, like ‘You can go out there, you can do it. You’ve done it before. So let’s go’.”

Competing at the US national championships in 2021 wearing a leotard with a rhinestone goat logo, the motif has certainly become somewhat of a signature of Simone, who is officially the most decorated gymnast of all time having clocked up no fewer than 39 medals between the Olympics and the world championships.
The elite athlete commissioned LA-based fine jeweller Janet Heller to make the pendant, which features 546 pavé diamonds. “Crafted with meticulous precision, this piece reflects her dedication, perseverance, and the spirit that has inspired generations,” the designer posted on Tik Tok.

Never one to shy away from sparkle, the gymnast’s competition looks have been suitably dusted with diamantés, and she has even added tiny crystals to her teeth. With three more events to come, having qualified in the vault, floor exercise and beam finals, we expect to see plenty more razzle dazzle from her yet.
