Tanishq Showcases 400-Year-Old Rajasthani Artform In New Collection
Alekhya features intricately designed pieces that celebrate Indian craftsmanship, perfect for Diwali
Jewellery brand Tanishq has taken inspiration from a centuries-old artform for its latest collection, Alekhya, staying true to their promise to celebrate the talent of Indian artisans. There are special exhibitions running in Dubai’s four Tanishq Showrooms, including The Dubai Mall, until October 29, showcasing the stunning neckwear and earrings for Diwali.

Pichwai is a style of painting that originated 400 years ago in Nathdwara, a town in the Aravalli Hills in the heart of Rajasthan. These intricate works are characterised by vibrant colours and delicate floral motifs, set inside ornate gold frames to show off the expert workmanship.

Tanishq’s design team used various techniques for each piece, including piroi, which is a style of handcrafting; enamel, which is a meticulously applied coating; and kudan, which is jewellery made with highly refined pure gold. The result is a regal-looking collection full of rich hues and delicate jewels, paying tribute to an artform that has been passed down through the generations.

“At Tanishq we believe women are the karigars or craftsmen of their own narrative,” said Vandana Bhalla, Marketing Head – International Business Division, Titan Company Ltd. “Alekhya is designed to give wearers of our jewellery the freedom to express who they are in a bold yet colourful way, celebrating their past and embracing their future, thus encapsulating the true essence of today’s modern Indian woman. We are excited to be a part of your celebration this year and look forward to welcoming you to our stores across the UAE this festive season.”
UAE buyers will receive up to 25 percent off on gold-making charges and diamond bill value for the duration of the event.
