Vacheron Constantin Celebrates 270 Years With Its Anniversary Exhibition in Abu Dhabi

Join the Swiss watchmaker as it embarks on its celebratory quest, venturing through the archives and into the future of watchmaking

Considered the oldest watchmaker, Vacheron Constantin is clocking up another memorable milestone – celebrating its 270th anniversary in 2025. To mark the moment, the maison has unveiled The Quest: 270 Years of Seeking Excellence, an interactive exhibition on show in Abu Dhabi until April 15, before it will embark on a world tour.

Divided into four distinct chapters, watch enthusiasts can begin by delving into archival materials and one-of-a-kind creations from the maison’s illustrious history. The ‘Beginning’ chapter features original documents and noteworthy developments, including the Kallista, a groundbreaking all-diamond jewellery watch crafted in the 1970s that was the most expensive watch in the world at the time.

The second chapter focuses on Vacheron Constantin’s artistry – exploring engraving, enamelling, gem-setting and guillochage with interactive magnified views into the miniature worlds crafted upon the wrist. Next, comes high watchmaking, which celebrates the maison’s latest and greatest coup – The Grand Berkley Complication, which is officially the world’s most complicated watch, comprising 2,877 parts and 63 complications. Those who like a challenge can compete in the digital games that explore the inner workings of a watch – racing the clock to assemble each component.

Finally follows the Celestia Astronomical Grand Complication, a micro-universe that holds the whole night sky in one room, with a sky chart featuring 22 further complications. The sentimental can even enter in the date of their birthday, anniversary, or life milestone, along with a location anywhere in the world, to watch the ceiling recreate the patterns of stars on that very night.

After journeying through almost three centuries, guests can then recline in the chic lounge, where chef Mariam Al Mansoori has crafted a menu suited to the traditional Arab-style salon. The exhibition is running from February 21 to April 15, so be quick – the clock is ticking.
