Designed to fit perfectly into the dashboard of the Amethyst Droptail, the Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon combines the best of haute horologies with luxury motor-caring
The story began with a client, one especially passionate about the world of motorcars and haute horologie, who requested to have a timepiece designed specifically for their commissioned Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail – one that would seamlessly fit into the dashboard.
Introducing the Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon, Vacheron Constantin and Rolls-Royce’s bespoke timepieces.
Rising to the challenge, the Swiss luxury watchmarker’s Les Cabinotiers department – the division responsible for creating bespoke pieces – worked to bring the idea to life, incorporating the extraordinary Calibre 1990, hand-wound in-house complication movement with a bi-retrograde display and an armillary tourbillon, into the design.
Equipped with a bi-axial tourbillon and double retrograde display, the timepiece is housed in a secure, removable holder to fit into the fascia of the bespoke vehicle.
Finished in a mauve hue that perfectly complements the interiors of the Rolls-Royce Amethyst Droptail, its sapphire dial reveals the full beauty of the movement, including a mainplate with a NAC galvanic coating with a circular satin finish.
The first of its kind created by Vacheron Constantin, Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon fuses together the excellence and craftsmanship of the storied luxury watchmaker with the heritage of Rolls-Royce.
