Vacheron Constantin Reveals Its Latest Timepieces At Watches and Wonders 2023

Luminescent hour markers and gem-set bezels are only a couple of new additions that will make their appearance at the acclaimed event…

Just in time for one of the most prestigious events in the world of luxe timepieces, the luxury Swiss watchmaking Maison with nearly 270 years of expertise and history has unveiled its newest timepieces at Watches and Wonders 2023.

Held annually, Watches and Wonders commenced on March 27 in Geneva, Switzerland. A vast amount of collectors, enthusiasts, press and retailers will flock to one of Europe’s most cosmopolitan cities for the honoured week-long event (which will be open to the public during its last two days) set to welcome the latest timepiece releases from top brands — and that includes Vacheron Constantin.

The Overseas Self-Winding watch has been carefully designed to reflect a spirit in which elegance is adorned with robustness, attention to detail underscores essentials and aesthetics to adapt to every circumstance. The Swiss luxury watchmaking Maison has introduced four brand-new models in pink gold and steel which feature a 35 mm diameter for the gem-set versions and 34.5 mm for the non-set models. These latest diameters evoked Vacheron Constantin’s in-house designers to reconsider the silhouette of the models which are now slimmer and more ergonomic.

For the first time, the Overseas line integrates a retrograde display which is a function that is part of Vacheron Constantin’s living heritage and continuously reinvents itself. The latest model keeps the collection’s iconic attributes which have been made immediately recognisable with a six-sided bezel evoking the Maltese cross, a fluted crown, polished and satin-brushed finishes, a translucent lacquered dial, luminescent hour-markers and hands by combining them with a retrograde date and a precision moon-phase.

Since Vacheron Constantin’s founding in 1755, the luxury watchmaking Maison has strived in cultivating the refinement of its watched as an art form, corresponding to a Bauhaus principle of “less is more,” which has been reflected in the latest Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date in 950 platinum which showcases a salmon-toned dial which eternalises a refined style and elegance as well as technicality.

Expression of an avant-garde aesthetic and the demand for mechanical sophistication, as well as the desire to share creative expertise, is at the heart of the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface timepiece. A talking point in itself, its features consist of a slate grey shade which was achieved using an NAC surface treatment which is visible on both sides of the watch further highlighting its mechanical power.
