Saudi Design Week will be held at the APEX Convention Centre in Riyadh from 5-8 October. Over 50 local and international designers will be brought together, with the event presenting a unique opportunity to learn about design through a carefully curated programme of exhibitions, forums, workshops and more.
This year’s theme is “Design in Motion,” with the designers showcasing the stories behind their creations as they move from sketch to shelf. As the Exclusive High Jewellery Partner of the fair, Van Cleef & Arpels will bring the spirit of jewellery to Saudi Design Week through their specialised Couture and Movement exhibition.

The exhibition will highlight the play of volume and style within the Maison’s High Jewellery creations, such as the rounded layers of the latest Bouton d’or collection. The pieces’ curved lines are from a jewellery motif called Pailette, debuted by Van Cleef in the 1930s and today featuring an array of gemstone and coloured gold combinations.
“An ardent supporter of the arts, Van Cleef & Arpels is proud to partner with Saudi Design Week, a unique design initiative supporting local and international talent,” said Alessandro Maffi, Van Cleef & Arpels Managing Director for the Middle East and India.

The exhibition is part of a busy upcoming calendar for the Maison in the region, which also sees the launch of their L'ÉCOLE programme in Dubai from 7-25 November. The announcement of their participation in Saudi Design Week is the latest example of the historical and creative links between design and High Jewellery.
