Residents of the UAE are well aware that we experience ‘winter’ (if you can truly call it that – this Canadian author certain struggles!) very differently from our friends and family located elsewhere in the world; nevertheless, Dubai is known for having somewhat extreme weather conditions when it comes to spontaneous changes in humidity and atmospheric pressures. From flooding and thunderstorms during heavy rains to ‘monster fog,’ when the sun isn’t shining the city certainly looks otherworldly.
