This new reality of re-watching old movies will finally come to an end this summer. Sony Productions is releasing the first major theatrical release since the start of the pandemic.
'The Broken Hearts Gallery', directed by Natalie Krinsky and executively produced by Selena Gomez, stars Dacre Montgomery, Geraldine Viswanathan, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Taylor Hill, Suki Waterhourse, Molly Gordon, Phillipa Soo, Arturo Castro, Ego Nwodim and Bernadette Peters.
This American-Canadian romcom will showcase Geraldine Viswanathan as an art gallery assistant named 'Lucy', who just happens to be an "emotional hoarder"- keeping trinkets from her past relationships. After her last breakup, she decides to open a pop-up gallery called 'The Broken Heart Gallery', to showcase all the souvenirs she kept from her past.
As Selena is known to be an advocate for female empowerment, having recently launched her own empowering beauty brand, Rare Beauty.
"Hearing from more female writers and directors is very much needed, Natalie is a wonderful talent and I am happy to be a part of her debut film," she said in a statement, accoroding to CNN.
