During these last couple of months, the luxury of a spa only sounded like somewhat of an etherial bliss.
But ss lockdown restrictions have now eased in the Dubai, you can finally enjoy some 'me time' at some of your favourite spas as treatments - including massages - can now be done on an appointment-only basis.
According to The National, earlier this a month a new circular issued by the Government of Dubai and Dubai Economy announced that spas and massage services were allowed to open once again, as long as they adhered to strict precautionary measures.
Therapists must was their hands between client appointments, while using disposable wooden sticks to apply creams and scrubs with social distancing measures of two metres between visitors has been recommended.
In terms of safety measures, disposable bed covers must also be used and changed between clients, with bins made available at entrances and common areas while having a thorough disinfection programme before reopening.
According to a circular issued by the Health and Safety department, at-home salon services were also allowed to commence from July 4 with a frequency of cleaning and disinfection implementing the usage of masks, face shields, gloves and suitable uniforms during procedures.
However, Arabian Business states that The Dubai Economy does not allow operations of saunas, inhalation rooms, ice rooms, jacuzzis, hot bath/Moroccan bath and Turkish bath at the moment.
Spas such as the ShuiQi Spa at Atlantis The Palm, Talise Ottoman Spa in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Guerlain Spa at One & Only The Palm and Jiva Spa at Taj Dubai have re-opened and are keeping all the necessary precautions in place.
