Set next to sandy shoes and aquamarine seas, Nikki Beach's St Tropez brunch transports you to the French coast in both with fresh culinary offerings and a laid back, cote d'Azur vibe. Eschewing the usual grape, hops and buffet blueprint that most venues adhere to on a Friday, the St Tropez bunch marches to the beat of its own drum, offering a market-fresh selection of salads and starters, desserts and smaller dining options to compliment a seven-course set menu.
Starting with fun plates like watermelon gazpacho bombs and blini's with rich caviar and a light crème fraiche, the menu begins with palette cleansing tasters before continuing with heavier courses. First up were poached eggs with pulled beef and truffle potato espuma before moving onto a crustacean bisque, fresh sea bass and charcuterie with quiche, chicken liver pate and a selection of cheese options. Peppered with sweet beverages like lavender lemonade, fresh juices and a selection of mixed house beverages, the main courses were capped off with a buttery soft beef and mushroom stew, packed with rich flavours.
Completing the diverse range of courses with something sweet, the dessert buffet cleverly offered mini options of classic sweet treats such as cheesecake, clafoutis, pies, pastries and more - they must have known we couldn't manage a single full bite. If you've got guests to impress or just fancy a change from the standard brunch surroundings, this experience felt like a mini French staycation, très, très, chic.
