When Gigi Hadid, Candice Swanepoel and Doutzen Kroes are your opening utilitarian line-up, you know you’re in for a visual fashion treat. What the show lacked in colour it more than made up for in silhouette, cut and flair. A military-like severity ran from the school uniform knee high socks to the perfect scalp tight braids. Safari-style jackets were re-imagined in black silks and white satins, while (arguably) the “must-have-accessory” to be “baker-boy hat” came in sorbet shades to match the pastel knee high boots. The simplicity in the design was a bold move for Ian Griffith’s ever evolving Max Mara brand, but oh boy did it pay off
