Bazaar shares all the highlights from fashion’s most exclusive night of the year here…

While it may not have been held on first Monday of May, this year’s Met Gala was no less anticipated as celebrities, A-Listers and industry insiders stepped out in style at fashion’s most exclusive event.

After postponing the mythic gala for two seasons in a row due to the pandemic September 13, 2021 was selected as the date for its much-awaited comeback.

This year’s theme was nothing but a celebration of American talent, tenacity and creativity as Andrew Bolton, MET‘s head curator, explained in a statement. From notable landmarks (such as the Statue of Liberty) to Americana culture, the evening celebrated the natural beauty of the country (in the form of a variety of flowers, representing all fifty states) to icons throughout the times like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe.

While some opted for full-on glam, many A-Listers were keen to push the boundaries of style; the “shock factor” was certainly going strong. From supermodel Iman stepping out in what can only be described as wearable art by Reed Harris to Hailey Bieber’s understated – but no less elegant – Saint Laurent gown Bazaar shares a few of the most striking looks from the 2021 Met Gala here.
