Chinese-born London-based designer Huishan Zhang has been growing in popularity over recent years, and with the launch of his Resort 18 collection, hise rise is showing no sign of slowing. The collection is now available at Bloomingdale’s Dubai and Kuwait, showcasing a playful fabrics, geometric patterns and asymmetrical layers.
“I feel very lucky to be partnering with Bloomingdale’s Kuwait, it’s great to see my collections received so well and be brought to a whole new clientele,” explained Zhang.
“I always feel honoured to see any woman wearing my pieces. I’m really enjoying the opportunity to meet my customer, to learn that they are activists, artists, business women – the more I learn, the more I understand what they really want.”
The Resort 18 collection perfectly merges Zhang’s heritage and style, using Eastern and Western influences to create pieces that are both feminine and strong.
When it comes to which woman he’d most like to dress, it’s not an easy decision for the designer. “Tricky…,’ he told Bazaar. “Right time moment, I’d have to say the Queen [of England] – I’d love to make her something special to celebrate her 70 years of marriage.”
