It’s A Jungle Out There: A Closer Look At Moschino’s A/W21 Collection
Starring an A-list cast of supermodels Jeremy Scott welcomed us into the technicolour dreamworld of a 1940’s fashion show, where adventurous socialites were eclectically presented a selection of looks for all occasions…
There’s something special that happens when a designer pays homage to another creator’s work…
Best known for looking to pop culture, kitsch and all things wonderfully-weird when seeking inspiration for his shows, Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott takes us on a journey to the world of George Cukor’s “The Women” within the AW2021 show, celebrating the Old Hollywood film from 1939 and its all-female cast by creating a version of his own.
Starring the likes of Lily Aldridge, Miranda Kerr, Hailey Bieber, Karen Elson and Joan Smalls (the list really does go on) — along with the likes of OG supermodels Carolyn Murphy and Shalom Harlow — we’re welcomed into a world where 1940’s Manhattan socialites are presented with a collection boasting a look for just about every occasion. From the streets of the concrete jungle she lives in to a spontaneous safari, the show-within-a-show format showcases everything she could possibly need within her wardrobe — from a pinstripe pantsuit-suit to lustrous ballgowns. There’s a lot going on, but in a good way.
