ICD Brookfield Place Celebrates 5 Years of Arts Programming
Five years of creative brilliance: ICD Broookfield Place marks a major milestone
Renowned lifestyle and business destination, ICD Brookfield Place, located in the heart of Dubai International Financial Center marks half a decade of its arts programme, displaying exhibitions and installations by regional and international artists through performances, talks and cultural activations. Offering future-ready workspaces, private members club, fine dining, premium gyms, and lifestyle retail, it’s recognized as a prominent cultural powerhouse.
Under the philosophy of creating destinations defined by experience rather than real estate, Brookfield Properties has been able to continuously achieve the transformation of spaces through exceptional creativity. Originally established in New York, in 1988, and embedded in Brookfield Properties’ global Arts & Culture programme, as a platform to bring art and placemaking into the day-to-day lives of tenants and visitors, it has now developed into a global movement across New York, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Berlin, and Dubai.

A crucial space for experimentation and collaboration, the arts and events programme successfully brought together a diverse group of artists, including Takashi Murakami, Monira Al Qadiri and Jason Boyd Kinsella, in a single art space. “It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come over the past five years, it’s been such a wild and rewarding journey. From thought-provoking exhibitions and creative projects to unforgettable events and collaborations, I’m so proud of what we’ve built together as a community, and I can’t wait to see what the next five years will bring“ says Malak Abu-Qaoud, the Director of Arts & Events. By offering the building as an active platform, artists are able to present their work, allowing the demonstration of regional and international talent. Through the strategy of accessibility, cultural dialogue, and long-term creative engagement, the arts programme maintains its role as a focal destination for art and ideas.

With an emphasis on regional and Arab artists, along with international artists, the programme presented a diverse range of projects including Postmordial Soup (2023), Do Arabs Dream of Electric Sheep? (2023), Radio Al Hara (2023) and many more talents.
What does the future hold? Malak Abu-Qaoud says “I can’t wait to see what the next five years will bring“. ICD Brookfield Place’s plan is to continue strengthening its position as a leader of cultural evolution, collaborating with regional and international artists and blending art, architecture and community, shaping Dubai’s cultural landscape.
