Chaumet And Qatar Museums Announce The Winning Design Of Their Tiara Challenge
Chaumet’s Houbara Haven tiara by Aisha Alattiya turns heritage into haute artistry – a tribute to Qatar and the Maison’s timeless savoir-faire
In a luminous celebration of artistry and cultural exchange, Maison Chaumet, in partnership with Qatar Museums and M7, reveals Aisha Alattiya as the winner of its exclusive tiara initiative, a project commissioned by Alfardan Jewellery and Qatar Museums. Building on the success of Chaumet & Nature, the Maison’s High Jewellery exhibition in Doha in 2024, the collaboration invited emerging talents from across the Middle East to reinterpret the timeless tiara through their own creative and cultural lenses.

The initiative reaffirms Chaumet’s enduring commitment to bridging heritage and innovation, nurturing new voices while continuing its centuries-old mastery in the art of tiara making. Open to jewellery designers, architects, and artists alike, the project drew more than 80 applicants, from which 11 were shortlisted for a creative workshop at M7, led by Chaumet’s Creative Studio Director. Three finalists, including Aisha Alattiya, were later selected for a rare opportunity to visit the Maison’s storied atelier at 12 Place Vendôme, where they joined a High Jewellery masterclass under the guidance of Chaumet artisans and workshop head Benoît Verhulle. Immersed in the poetic world of gouache illustration and traditional craftsmanship, the finalists witnessed firsthand the artistry that continues to shape Chaumet’s legacy of innovation and elegance.

Blending heritage with haute craftsmanship, Qatari multidisciplinary artist Aisha Alattiya reimagines the tiara as a poetic ode to her homeland in Houbara Haven: A Chaumet Tiara. Drawing from Qatar’s desert flora and enduring pearl-diving legacy, the piece captures the delicate beauty of the native Awsaj plant and the grace of the Houbara bird in flight. Its openwork wings evoke both freedom and protection, reflecting the intimacy of Qatar’s falconry tradition. Natural Gulf pearls, sourced through Alfardan Jewellery, anchor the design in Chaumet’s timeless codes of nature-inspired artistry. Thoughtfully designed, the tiara’s delicate floral motifs can also be detached and worn as brooches, reflecting Chaumet’s flair for versatility and innovation

Handcrafted over 850 hours at the Maison’s storied atelier on Place Vendôme, the tiara will be unveiled during Qatar Creates Fall 2025 from 27 October to 12 January 2026, standing as a luminous dialogue between Parisian savoir-faire and Qatari cultural pride.
