Alice In Wonderland Set To Return With A Live-action Musical Starring Sabrina Carpenter

The star takes the screen to reimagine the timeless tale…

Presenting a live-action musical adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, six-time Grammy-nominated artist Sabrina Carpenter has announced that she is heading back down the rabbit hole of acting. Universal Pictures, Hustlers director Lorene Scafaria, and Wicked producer Marc Platt, are gearing all up to put on a show. Joining them as producers are Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton from Alloy Entertainment – the team behind the highly acclaimed television series Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars.

The tale from the Victorian era has been brought to life through several on-screen and stage adaptations over the years. Some of the most notable include the iconic Disney animated film in 1951, the 1972 musical starring Michael Crawford, the Broadway revival play in 1982, the Hallmark film in 1999, and Tim Burton’s blockbuster adaptation starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. Lewis created a fantastical realm centred on an innocent girl named Alice, who initially falls down the rabbit hole and later steps through the looking glass. Transported to a world of talking creatures and magical characters, Alice in Wonderland left a mark in history and transcended boundaries, showcasing a fictional universe that continues to inspire and enchant.

Although her official on-screen role is yet to be revealed, reports confirm that she approached the project brimming with ideas and ready to roll.

From her iconic Disney Channel role as Maya Hart in Girl Meets World, to one of her most recent roles as Harper in Netflix’s Tall Girl, Sabrina has evolved from being a teen television favourite, into one of today’s most dynamic stars in both pop and film.
