Best Dressed: Anant Ambani’s Jewels Steal A Little Of The Limelight

The most eagerly anticipated nuptials of the year is upon us, and while the spotlight often shines brightest on the bride, Anant Ambani is making a compelling case for great groom fashion. With his eye for unique accessories and dazzling jewels, Anant’s outfits have been almost as eye-catching as the bride’s.
While Radhika’s breath-taking peach-toned lehenga almost broke the internet, it was also the groom-to-be who made people stop and stare at his unique choice of accessory at their Mosalu ceremony on July 9. Anant wore a red-hued kurta with a matching pyjama, layered with a red embellished coat. However, what truly turned heads was his brooch, crafted from 18K white gold, featuring 51 sapphires, a 720 carat emerald, one onyx diamond, and 604 brilliant-cut diamonds. His diamond and emerald studded buttons only added to the opulence.
For their sangeet night, Anant Ambani chose to shine bright once more in a unique and custom-designed bandhgala sherwani by the eminent designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. With a base colour of deep navy blue, the highlight of his outfit was its real gold thread-work embroidery, minutely hand-crafted to perfection. The embroidered motifs reflected floral and natural beauty, while the ruby and diamond-encrusted buttons added an extra oomph factor.
For his garba-dandiya raas night, organised by Kokilaben Ambani, the revered matriarch of the Ambani clan, Anant sported a custom blush pink-hued sherwani by Rahul Mishra. He layered it with a matching Nehru coat featuring intricate embroidery work that included several elements from wildlife and nature, paying homage to Anant’s deep love for animals. He adorned the look with a unique peacock brooch, adding a touch of glamour and personal meaning to his look.
The show-stopper moment, however, was when Anant and Radhika signed their wedding papers in March, as 1,500 guests looked on. As Anant waited for his bride to walk down the aisle, he looked stylish in an ivory sherwani designed by Rohit Bal, complete with diamond buttons by Raghavendra Rathod and a custom brooch by Lorraine Schwartz. The lion brooch, embellished with countless yellow diamonds in different hues, added texture and depth to the lion’s mane. The lion sat on a pedestal made of white Asscher cut diamonds, signifying being grounded and humble.
While Radhika Merchant’s outfits are undoubtedly breathtaking, with his elegant sherwani’s and extravagant brooches, it’s fair to say that Anant Ambani is proving that the groom can join in the fashion revelries too.
On his wedding day, Anant’s penchant for extraordinary jewels continued, as he wore a sensational diamond sarpech brooch upon his turban, with a white feather plume. Equally remarkable was the diamond-set elephant brooch upon his sherwani, an auspicious symbol and reflective of Anant’s love of animals.
