Shoe designer Azoor Yeldan was born and raised in London and grew up with a love and passion for fashion, attending the London College of Fashion. While studying at the prestigious fashion school, she focused on shoe design, which laid the foundation for her future career and namesake brand.
Inspired by her passion for the art of shoe design, Yeldan travelled to Italy and the Middle East to research the historical techniques and traditions of shoemaking. Both these regions are famed for their exquisite craftsmanship using luxury materials. During her travels, Azoor gained insight into the skill and process of the craft of making shoes and was greatly influenced by what she experienced and the knowledge she acquired. Following her journey, she founded Azoor Yeldenar Shoes, a luxury brand creating handcrafted, customised shoes.
Stylish, Luxurious, Graceful
Establishing an exclusive workshop that crafted her custom designs was no easy feat, and starting out in the fashion industry as a woman was, at times, difficult. Often, Azoor had to prove herself before she was taken seriously as a designer starting an atelier.
“The biggest challenge was finding my team of artisans and the right materials to craft my shoes. This was very important for my brand. After a lot of hard work and research, we managed to achieve this,” she says.
A major milestone in her career came when Yeldan secured her first editorial feature. This was a pivotal moment for her brand, as the publication’s editors chose to showcase shoes from Azoor Yeldenar in their photoshoot. Being selected for inclusion in an editorial spread is a significant acknowledgment in the fashion industry, adding both credibility and prestige to the brand.
As Azoor Yeldenar has evolved and grown, it has attracted clients with its stylish, luxurious, and graceful designs. Its clients also value the atelier’s exclusivity, craftsmanship, customized shoes, and pre-orders. Azoor likes to “make women feel special” while connecting with her clients through her shoes.
