Bvlgari’s Journeys Of Ramadan Campaign Celebrates Three Inspiring Female Creatives In The GCC

With an enchanting series of films, the maison explores themes of rebirth, renewal and evolution through the works of three talented artists

The themes of the Holy Month – rebirth, reflection, and resilience – are themes that feel synonymous with womanhood, and in its Ramadan campaign, the magnificent Roman high jeweller, is celebrating both.

To celebrate the Holy Month, a series of films follows three talented female artists from the Middle East, each with their own personal connection to Ramadan.

The first film features Maryam Al Tajer, a multidisciplinary artist from Qatar who is inspired by the desert rose, with an elegant sculpture rising from the desert sands. Maryam’s work often focuses on a theme of rebirth, endurance and renewal. Her artworks symbolise the stamina and survival that can be proffered through faith, and shifting light and sands are synonymous with continuous transformation.

Equally captivating is The Saffron Sun film that follows Hana Almilli, a multimedia artist from Saudi Arabia, who is pictured against the simmering, sultry tones of the setting sun. Once more, the shifting light, shadow and shine is symbolic – captured at dusk, the film focuses on the evolution from fasting to nourishment. Intended to echo the contemplative spirit of the Maghrib prayer at the end of each day’s fast, the film celebrates the flowing fabrics of Hana’s unique textile installations under the dimming sunlight.

The Green Wadi film stars Sara Al Khayal, an Emirati artist, whose installations are inspired by the natural world around her. Featuring palm tree leaves crafted using traditional Khoos weaving techniques, the film’s verdant setting explores the wadi and its symbolic waters – the life-giving water that can renew the soul. As Sara weaves each leaf, the feeling of ever-growing faith is represented by each strand.

Through these films, Bvlgari celebrates the artistry, savoir faire and creativity that is shared by both their protagonists and the maison, but also speaks to the art of contemplation – a meditative and meaningful theme as we enter the Holy Month.
