Cartier Exhibits High Jewellery Masterpieces at UNESCO World Heritage Site in Saudi Arabia
On now until March 26, the curated exhibition highlights the craftsmanship and beauty of the house’s most exquisite pieces
Luxury maison Cartier, in partnership with Diriyah Gate Development Authority, presents the first-ever high jewellery exhibition. Titled Al Thara wa Althuraya, the stunning exhibition is located in the historic district of At-Turaif, an UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition takes place from March 17-26th, showcasing unique masterpieces that honor the longstanding history between Cartier and the region. The site, which holds important historical significance for the region, was chosen due to its cultural relevance, symbolizing the honoring of beauty and heritage that is a trademark for the Maison.
Cartier is the first brand to exhibit its artifacts at At-Turaif World Heritage Site. The exhibition is set to include 40 jewellery pieces from the Cartier Collection, many of which have never been presented before, as well as 200 of the Maison’s timeless, signature creations from their five markers of style: Fauna and Flora, Geometry and Contrast, Architecture and Epure, Cultural Explorations and Ludique.
“As a Maison, we have been anchored in the Peninsula since 1912, when our founder Jacques Cartier first visited the region looking for extraordinary pearls and came back with much more: friendships, memorable moments shared with locals, and great sources of inspiration, which continue to influence the unique creativity evident in our designs. The legacy of our presence lives on as we proudly present this ground-breaking event for Cartier as the first global brand to exhibit in this historic site and the birthplace of The Kingdom. This collaboration is a true honor and we look forward to the journey ahead,” says Kalid Lanssari, Managing Director of Cartier Saudi Arabia.

Notable items from Cartier on display include the Scroll Tiara which belonged to Elisabeth, Queen of the Belgians; a Scarab belt buckle, which dates back to the 19th dynasty of Ancient Egypt; and the famous Crocodile necklace, an iconic piece that has graced many famous necks over the years, originally crafted for actress María Félix and comprised of more than 1000 brilliant-cut yellow diamonds and over 1000 emeralds.
