Ever Wondered What The Met Gala Jewels Cost? We Asked An Expert.

From Zendaya’s yellow diamond earrings to custom-made gems crafted for Louis Hamilton, the Met Gala delivered some seriously dazzling—and valuable—jewels

The 2025 Met Gala returned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday evening, bringing together global stars including Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, and Sir Lewis Hamilton. While fashion often commands the spotlight at the annual fundraising event, this year it was the jewellery that truly turned heads.

Max Milligan, Diamond Expert and Head of Sales at Queensmith, examined the evening’s standout pieces and revealed the stories and estimated values behind the breath-taking gems worn by the night’s most talked-about guests.

Lewis Hamilton’s ring repertoire

Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton impressed with a look rich in symbolism, but it was the jewellery on his hands that caught the eye. He wore a 12 carat unheated yellow sapphire on his left hand, valued at around Dhs1,96,030. The showstopper, however, was the 17.5 carat ring on his pinkie. Featuring a radiant-cut diamond with a rare “smashed glass” effect, the stone was reportedly custom-cut specifically for his look.

Kim Kardashian’s dazzling diamond ring

Kim Kardashian dazzled in a diamond ring featuring a 14.5 carat marquise-cut stone flanked by two 2 carat pear-shaped diamonds. If confirmed to be a natural diamond, the trio of stones would be worth approximately Dhs98,01,400.

Heidi Klum’s floating fantasy necklace

Heidi Klum wore one of the most talked-about jewellery pieces of the night, a 40-carat oval-shaped diamond necklace designed to look as if it were floating on her neck. Suspended by fishing wire, the illusion added to its impact. The necklace is estimated to be worth Dhs51,457,330.

Zendaya’s sunshine-hued diamond earrings

Zendaya paired her sleek, custom Louis Vuitton three-piece suit with striking yellow diamond earrings. Each earring featured a 2 carat stone, bringing the pair’s total estimated value to circa Dhs3,43,050. While the fashion at the Met Gala continues to push boundaries, this year’s event proved that high jewellery remains an equally powerful form of self-expression and storytelling on the red carpet, and is, almost, priceless.
