Dina Zahran On How To Dress With Intention During The Holy Month

Fashion Designer and Content Creator Dina Zahran offers Bazaar Arabia an inside look at mastering modest style with a stylish twist this Ramadan

Dina Zahran has turned Ramadan dressing into a quiet ritual – and a digital one at that. Over the course of the Holy Month, her Instagram account becomes a daily touchpoint, with followers returning to see how she styles each day. Having just unveiled her third capsule collection via her label, Dinzy, the fashion designer treats her wardrobe prep as instinct rather than spectacle. “Every year, the day before Ramadan starts, I pull out my clothing rail and hang up all my kaftans – past pieces and new ones together,” she says. When it comes to trends, metallic wins the popularity contest. By mixing textures and pairing shades thoughtfully (one metallic with black or white works best for effortless balance), you can further elevate your look to the next level with matching molten-hued accessories for after-dark dressing done right.

You don’t have to shy away from colour during Ramadan. Brights work well when paired with neutral hues to tone down anything too daring. Patterns are also a lovely way to express joy, and these two kaftans by Dinzy tick all the right boxes. When designing her capsule collection, Dina kept in mind that that her brand is always about “love for colour and life” and says: “I wanted to translate this into Ramadan outfits because the month is special to me, so naturally I wanted to bring these two worlds together. Also, a lot of the Ramadan kaftans are either too casual (and beachy) or too dressy. I wanted to create something fun and comfortable but also super stylish that can be worn just as easily with sneakers as it can be with a pair of heels.”

“I love fashion and I love different textures and materials, so there is nothing I won’t at least try once” says Dina when asked by Bazaar Arabia if any fabrics should be avoided during Ramadan. Enter denim, a forever wardrobe hero that can be worn with confidence during the Holy Month. Whether it’s a long dress, wide-cut jean or jacket, layer with artful accessories in reds and metallics to lift the look.
