Eid Al Adha In The UAE: Dhul Hijjah Crescent Moon Spotted In Abu Dhabi

The crescent of the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah 1445 was spotted in Abu Dhabi on Friday, June 7 at 10am, UAE time.
The announcement was made by the country’s Astronomy Centre in a social media post. Taking to X.com, formerly known as Twitter, the entity shared an image of the faint moon as captured by the Al Khatim Astronomical Observatory at 10am UAE time (6am GMT).

According to previous government announcements on public holidays, UAE residents are set to get one day off for Arafah day, and a three-day break for Eid Al Adha.
Earlier, on June 6, authorities in Saudi Arabia had announced the sighting of the moon signaling the beginning of Dhul Hijjah in the kingdom.
