
Fashion Futures Is Back
Some of the industry’s biggest names will be speaking in Riyadh this week…
One of Saudi Arabia’s biggest moments of the year for its fashion scene is set to return to the City Hub in Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City starting November 17 to 19.
This year marks Fashion Futures third year of striving to unite fashion lovers around the globe as well as celebrate the Kingdom’s evergrowing fashion industry. The Fashion Commission ensures it supports blossoming creatives that include panel discussions, masterclasses, networking and Q&A sessions led by leading industry experts.
The event will include a variety of activities such as a pop-up space at U Walk that will be hosting a Swap Shop in partnership with YOOX Net-a-Porter and sponsored by Al Hokair from November 17 through November 20. Those attending are invited to bring clothes to swap for tokens to pick up new items, excitedly, if you donate designer you will be able to pick up goodies from luxury brands. Additionally, Taqia, a mending workshop, will be on-site to repair any minor wear and tear to customised items.
Fashion Futures will be welcoming 30 local Saudi brands from the commission’s Saudi 100 Brands initiative and will exhibit their collections at City Hub from November 17 to 19. The main stage talks will be delivered by world-famous Italian-Haitian designer Stella Jean, Founder of ROKSANDA; Roksanda Ilincic, a world-renowned expert in stem cell research; Professor Augustinus Bader, the founder of his eponymous skincare line; and co-founder of BY FAR, Valentina Ignatova.
Furthermore, Fashion Futures welcomes its latest speakers and partners. The list includes former NBA basketball player turned model, Fashion Editor and Creative Director, Badara Ndiaye; industry expert and Brand Ambassador of Milan Fashion Week, Sara Maino; and Saudi Based company striving to help designers and retailers grow their digital presence, Zid.
