Google Taps Gentle Monster and Kering Eyewear to Shape the Future of AI Smart Glasses
Smart, stylish, and powered by AI, Google’s new eyewear collaborations are the future you’ll actually want to wear
Google has announced a duo of ground breaking partnerships with Gentle Monster and Kering Eyewear today, to reimagine the future of smart glasses. Powered by Android XR and Google’s AI capabilities, these collaborations aim to merge wearable tech with fashion, function, and accessibility.
South Korean eyewear innovator Gentle Monster is Google’s first official partner for Android XR smart eyewear. Known for its bold, avant-garde designs, the brand will help bring aesthetic sophistication to a category long criticised for lacking style. Together, they’re creating smart glasses that are wearable, elegant, and fully integrated with intuitive AI features, all within Gentle Monster’s distinct design DNA.

Kering Eyewear, home to Gucci, Saint Laurent, and Cartier, is elevating the premium end of the collaboration. Their smart glasses will combine high-end craftsmanship with Google’s extended reality tech, unlocking intelligent features like real-time information overlays and personalised assistance, all wrapped in a luxury frame. “We are shaping a product people will want to wear,” said Kering Eyewear CEO, Roberto Vedovotto. “Stylish, smart, and seamlessly interactive.”

With each brand targeting a different audience, Google’s strategy signals a turning point: smart glasses are no longer just about function they’re about form, fashion, and lifestyle. Whether luxury, street-style, or practical everyday wear, this new generation of AI eyewear is poised to be more than a gadget, it’s the next must-have accessory.
