Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Hosts Its Inaugural Evening Of Master Of Light, 30 Years of Georges Hobeika

Welcoming esteemed guests from the region and beyond, Studio 152 hosted a scintillating evening almost as sublime as its inspiration – a unique retrospective celebrating 30 years of Georges Hobeika’s splendour

Marsa Boulevard, which unveiled its second scintillating season yesterday, played host to a Harper’s Bazaar Arabia first last night: an exclusive exhibition in celebration of Georges Hobeika’s 30th anniversary, held at Studio 152. Drawing a luminous crowd of industry tastemakers, devoted clients, and friends of Bazaar Arabia, guests stepped into an immersive showcase before being seated for an elegant dinner that mirrored the maison’s couture artistry, even down to the matchboxes.

The heroes of the evening were undoubtedly the 30 sensational gowns from the Georges Hobeika archive, each a sensational tribute to the maison’s legacy over the last 30 years. “Georges Hobeika is the master of making a woman feel like she emits the most amazing glow,” said Olivia Phillips, Editor-in-Chief of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, who wore a gown from the Lebanese designer’s rich repertoire. “It is always such a pleasure to wear a Georges Hobeika dress. Georges and Jad Hobeika were so gracious to allow me to wear one of the pieces; it was extra special that they tailored it for me, as the whole point of couture is that it fits like a glove. The gown was exceptionally heavy so a bit of a workout,” she quips, “But it also made the most wonderful tinkling noise with every step, thanks to its thousands of glass paillettes – it was utterly magical to wear.”

Here, we round up the highlight moments from the exhibition’s opening night, ahead of its three-day tenure at Studio 152, Marsa Boulevard.
