How to pay to get verified on Instagram? Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know about Meta’s newest updates, which will soon be rolled out around the world…

It started with Elon Musk announcing, Twitter’s blue verification badges would be up for purchase. Now, it seems Instagram and Facebook are trying to do the same. Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced on February 19 that users of the social media platforms Instagram and Facebook will soon be able to purchase a subscription for account verification. The new offering, called Meta Verified, will be tested to help creators grow faster.

What is Meta Verified?

The subscription bundle includes a verified badge, to confirm the account is (i.e. created by a real person, authenticated with an official government ID.) Another advantage will be the company offering account monitoring in order to protect individuals from impersonation. The subscription will also provide assistance from a real person in case help is needed to resolve some account issues. Meta Verified furthermore promises to increase the user’s visibility and reach by pushing their accounts within comment sections and more. Lastly, subscribers will gain access to more features to create more engaging and creative content.

The new feature will not affect people who have prior to the introduction of the subscription received their verification.

The Meta Verified subscription will first be tested in Australia and New Zealand to then possibly go on to the rest of the globe. Users can purchase a monthly subscription for $11,99 (44.04 Dhs) on the internet or $14,99 (55.06 Dhs) on iOS and Android.

To be eligible for Meta Verified, users must be at least 18 years old and meet minimum the set of requirements (i.e. having a prior posting history.) The process starts with the applicant submitting a government ID matching the profile name and photo of the account.

After the Meta team has checked all the data, users will shortly be informed whether or not they meet the requirements for the subscription.
