“I Owe Those Women A Lot”: Who Inspires Alessio Filippelli?
Young visionary Alessio Filippelli dazzles with humility and a tale of hard-earned success, drawing strength from his roots and giving back with fervor
Sometimes, sudden success can look like it comes from nowhere, but everyone has their inspirations and supporters.
Young phenom Alessio Filippelli has rocketed into the public eye with class and humility, fueled by his vision, hard work, and the passion of those around him. The young creative director, manager, and social media expert has worked on musical albums and tours and collaborated on large-scale productions for Disney and Paramount. He’s quick to give credit to those who helped him launch his career and continue to inspire him daily.
Strength to Grow
“I’ve been surrounded my whole life by strong, independent women,” says Alessio. “I never really had a dad, or male energy, in my life growing up. It’s always been my grandmother, my mom, and one of my closest friends in the world, Kat.”
The independence he drew from them was an essential part of his foundations. “At the beginning of my journey, I had nothing to offer, no money, not a platform, nothing but my ideas.” It took time for him to find strength in his voice and stand proudly in his identity, and reaching that point required significant strength of will. His role models, the women in his life, demonstrated what that strength looked like.
He describes them as “Women that never needed a man in their life to feel complete, that I’ve always looked up to for their tenacity and strength. I owe those women a lot of the man that I am today.”
Professional Mentorship
Inspiration and assistance can take many forms, and in the case of Kat Graham, it was a very direct mentorship. “I always say that she saw something in me,” says Alessio, “Before I was even able to see it in myself. She gave me an opportunity and the tools to study, to grow… when no one else was willing to give me a chance.”
A famed actress, singer, and activist, Kat Graham brought Alessio to her Worldwide Long Hot Summer Tour in 2022, where he worked on 30 shows across 12 countries. He also worked on her Toro Gato album. Not only did Kat provide opportunities to learn artistry and professional skills, but she also let him gain real-world experience that opened industry doors. She saw Alessio’s potential and allowed him to reach for it. “She’s one of the reasons I’m blessed enough to wake up every day with a smile.”
Paying it Forward
Filippelli can’t take his success for granted and is eager to make a difference. Alongside Kat Graham, he worked on the Galactica clothing line. The message of the line is one of inclusivity.
Not only is Alessio Filippelli an incredible success story, but it is also a lesson in humility and understanding. He knows who his inspirations are and is grateful to those who gave him space to grow, and he’s wasting no time doing what he can to make a difference with his opportunities.
