After seven years the creative director could soon be saying farewell…

Is Alessandro Michele Leaving Gucci? Bazaar Arabia shares everything we know…

According to WWD, “well-placed” sources have emerged saying the creative director is planning to bid ciao to the Italian luxury house.

The source revealed Alessandro Michele “was asked to initiate a strong design shift,” which the creative director reportedly did not manage to achieve.

The decision seems to have come right after the chairman and chief executive officer, François-Henri Pinault of Gucci’s owner, French-based multinational corporation, Kering is looking to change the brand’s pace.

Alessandro had been working for the Gucci design studio since 2002 under the then-creative director, Frida Giannini and finally, on January 2015 he would be appointed creative director of the Italian luxury house. There is no doubt that over the course of his career at Gucci, Alessandro successfully revamped the brand and put it on the radar for younger generations with its funky and quirky designs.

So… When will Alessandro Michele be bidding Gucci farewell?

The news comes as a shock to not only those in the fashion industry but to those around the globe who have become so familiar with the brand and its designs. Although not much has come out about Alessandro’s departure from Gucci, according to Drapers, it could be as soon as Wednesday.

Check back soon for more details.
