Is WhatsApp down? It’s a question many people have been asking each other this morning here in the region (and beyond!), as the Meta-owned messaging platform appeared to be experiencing some problems on Tuesday morning.
WhatsApp users have not been able to send or receive messages, sending some into a tizzy, as Down Detector reports over 5,000 outages reported in the past few hours.
WhatsApp has yet to publicly comment as to why the popular messaging platform is having technical difficulties.
As always whenever a platform “goes down” users began flocking to Twitter in search of the root cause of the problem…

Is WhatsApp down around the entire world?
At the moment, the messaging platform does not appear to be working in the UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia, India, Australia and Brazil, according to netizen comments – however other Meta-owned communication services like Instagram and Facebook messenger seem to be working just fine.
