How Istituto Marangoni and Harper’s Bazaar Arabia Are Joining Forces To Support The Next Generation of Regional Creatives

Istituto Marangoni is partnering with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia on a new initiative, titled ‘Innovating Local Heritage Craft in Fashion and Design,’ which will fund 15 scholarships for students seeking admission into the September and October 2022 intake of its Undergraduate Fashion programmes — both in Dubai and at its European campuses; the scholarships will cover 50% of tuition and is open exclusively to GCC students with the impetus of fostering burgeoning regional talent.

Applicants will be required to submit a project examining the mission of the initiative: ‘Innovating Local Heritage Craft in Fashion and Design.’ Students will choose one of five prompts that will ask them to explore the role fashion plays in preserving Middle Eastern craftsmanship. They will be challenged to propose innovative ways that these skills can be harnessed for use in the modern world.
Submissions will be evaluated by a jury made up of distinguished Italian and global fashion industry professionals, media partners, and representatives of the Istituto.
The deadline to submit applications is May 8, 2022. Successful candidates will be contacted starting on May 30.
