How Actor Kerem Bürsin Is Supporting UN Women Turkey’s #HeForShe Campaign

UN Women HeForShe’s newest ambassador certainly isn’t shy when it comes to encouraging men and boys to be an ally for women everywhere… This past weekend it was revealed that Sen Çal Kapımı star Kerem Bürsin has become the first-ever HeForShe Turkey ambassador.

The 34-year-old Turkish actor shared an IG Reel on Saturday with his followers, bringing them along behind the scenes at a recent photoshoot for the #HeForSheAtHome campaign (known as #EvdeHeForShe in Turkish.)

The global campaign, created by the UN Women backed initiative, encourages men and boys to take an active role in championing gender equality; #HeForSheAtHome specifically raises awareness surrounding the startling fact that women complete up to three times more (unpaid) household work than men, taking on the majority of the domestic burden in the home.
The campaign encourages men from around the world to share how they’re relieving some of the burdens from their female family members. All they need to do is share their stories across social media and use the hashtag #EvdeHeForShe, in hopes that it will inspire other men to take an active role in the elimination of inequality at home.
Throughout the video clip, Kerem poses in both a black and a white t-shirt with the HeForShe logo on the front.
Naturally, his girlfriend and Sen Çal Kapımı co-star Hande Erçel couldn’t help but leave a comment of her own on the post, sharing her approval and support in the form of two emojis: “??”
